Behind the scenes with our Barbell Athlete of the Month, Eddie.
How or when did your focus shift to concentrating on Novem’s Barbell Club programming?
Speaking to Lesha and Joe they were so passionate about it and highly recommended it. They said it would really help my progression which it has and now I’m addicted.
Tell us one thing about yourself that no one in the gym knows about you.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY which I am extremely proud of since it exposed me to a lot of cultures and definitely taught me a lot about life.
What is your Athletic background?
I played football at the University of Delaware and also wrestled in high school.
What is your favorite of the two competition lifts and why?
I love clean and jerk as it’s something I have always been good at and I love the movement.
What do you find most rewarding with the competition style of lifting?
Pushing yourself to put up the best number you can is really rewarding cause once you do there is no better feeling. When you workout on your own its tough to push yourself but when you compete you have that extra edge to take it further and get weights you didn’t think you were capable of.
Do you have any goals or aspirations to compete?
I love competing its something I have done all my life so it feels great to do it again. I have goals to take this as far as my body will allow me to take it.
How has Novem Barbell Club impacted your training and your life?
Novem Barbell Club has been so great for my training and the coaching and challenging has really pushed me to get the most out of my workouts. I feel more confident and healthy as its been a while since I have done intense training. Its motivated me to continue training and competing with my teammates at the gym and having fun doing so.
